MUMBAI: The landscape of Indian cinema is undergoing a revolutionary shift. Abundantia Entertainment—through its dedicated AI division, aiON—has officially partnered with global video platform Invideo to commence principal photography on ‘Beta Builder’.

This high-concept project is the inaugural title under the studio’s ambitious ₹100-crore, five-film co-production pact signed earlier this year, marking a massive milestone for technology-driven filmmaking in the country.

A Groundbreaking Hybrid Production Model

Beta Builder is setting a new precedent in the entertainment industry by adopting a pioneering hybrid model. The film blends traditional, full-scale live-action shooting with cutting-edge generative-AI tools.

Directed by Hridaye A Nagpal—who also serves as Invideo’s global creative lead—the narrative is set against the dynamic backdrop of Mumbai. The production strategy relies on physical sets and live actors merged seamlessly with state-of-the-art backend generative tech, proving that tech innovation can expand creative horizons without sidelining human performance.

Star-Studded Cast and Underdog Narrative

Headlining the film are youth-favorite actors Mayur More (widely acclaimed for Kota Factory) and Ashlesha Thakur (of The Family Man fame).

The story centers around Jai, a self-taught, visionary architect from the bustling lanes of Dharavi who lands a life-changing opportunity in the realm of Virtual Reality. As an underdog fighting systemic odds, Jai’s journey explores ambition, romance, and community identity while striving to build something enduring in an increasingly digital world.

Industry Leaders on the Future of AI Cinema

Speaking on the milestone, Vikram Malhotra, Founder and CEO of Abundantia Entertainment, highlighted the vision behind the partnership. He noted that the collaboration aims to utilize AI to tell unique, relatable stories targeted at younger demographics, praising Nagpal’s rare combination of creative vision and technological fluency.

Invideo CEO Sanket Shah echoed similar enthusiasm, stating that Beta Builder proves how enterprise-grade AI tools can be successfully integrated into mainstream filmmaking to produce feature-length theatrical cinema.

Director Hridaye A Nagpal believes this hybrid approach will unlock new avenues for bolder, risk-taking storytelling. By uniting grounded human emotion with advanced visual technology, the team is betting heavily that this fusion will redefine the cinematic experience for Indian moviegoers.
