BENGALURU: The much-awaited Kannada multi-starrer Ramarasa has officially raised the excitement bar with the grand launch of its teaser. Along with giving audiences a peek into its layered narrative, the makers also announced the launch of their independent music banner, Seven Star Music, marking a fresh strategic milestone for regional cinema audio distribution.

Directed by BM Giriraj and jointly backed by Guru Deshpande and Vikram Arya under the G Cinemas and Seven Star Movies banners, Ramarasa boasts an expansive ensemble cast featuring Prajwal Devaraj, Karthik Mahesh, Sharan, Aditya, Komal Kumar, Adah Sharma, and Anusha Rai.

A Powerful Teaser Backed by Sriimurali’s Voiceover

The newly released teaser sets an intense, multi-layered tone for the project, elevated further by a striking voiceover from actor Sriimurali.

Speaking at the launch event, lead star Prajwal Devaraj opened up about his intriguing character. “I play the role of Sudugadu Siddha in the film, though the character has multiple layers and shades beyond that,” he shared, while also praising Sriimurali for lending his dynamic voice to the teaser.

Echoing the excitement, actor Karthik Mahesh, who takes on a prominent lead role, expressed gratitude for the opportunity. “I am grateful to the producers for trusting me with this lead role. Giriraj has mounted a layered story with a strong ensemble cast, and I look forward to seeing it on the big screen this December,” he said.

Empowering Regional Cinema with ‘Seven Star Music’

A major highlight of the event was the introduction of Seven Star Music, a brand-new independent music label. Co-producer Guru Deshpande revealed that the label’s debut catalog will feature the official soundtrack of Ramarasa. Furthermore, the label has secured a strategic distribution tie-up with The Orchard—a global music distribution subsidiary of Sony Music—to ensure expansive, worldwide digital reach.

Addressing the media, Guru Deshpande emphasized the pressing need for robust distribution frameworks in the industry. “With more than 200 films releasing annually, many emerging filmmakers face challenges navigating music distribution rights and reach,” Deshpande stated. “We established this label not merely for our internal projects, but to serve as a platform for other production teams as well. Partnering with a global distribution network allows regional work to access broader markets.”

Theatrical Release Date

With high production values, a stellar star cast, and an innovative approach to music distribution, Ramarasa is all set to storm the box office. Fans can mark their calendars as the film gears up for a grand theatrical release on December 11.
