Speech and Hearing-Impaired NEET Achiever Rohith Felicitated by MLC Shivanna

MYSURU: Demonstrating exceptional perseverance and determination, Rohith, a speech- and hearing-impaired student, has achieved remarkable success by securing the 575th rank in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). He has now enrolled as an MBBS student at the prestigious Mysore Medical College.

Rohith is an alumnus of the Institute of Mother and Deaf Child, an initiative managed by the Parents Association of Deaf Children in Mysuru. Overcoming significant communication and physical challenges associated with his disability, he pursued his academic preparation with unwavering focus to rank among the top candidates in the national medical entrance exam.

To honor his achievement and support his ongoing medical studies, Shivanna—Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) and President of Lohia Vichara Vedike, Bengaluru—felicitated Rohith by gifting him a laptop. The initiative aims to provide essential technological assistance for his undergraduate medical coursework while recognizing his grit.

Educational leaders and local organizations praised Rohith’s performance as an inspiring benchmark for students facing physical or financial adversities in their pursuit of higher education.
