Karnataka SIR Voter List: Election Office Achieves 100% Digitisation of Enumeration Forms

BENGALURU: In a major milestone for electoral accuracy in the state, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Karnataka, has completed 100% digitisation of enumeration forms under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.

Out of Karnataka’s total registered electorate of 5,54,32,314 voters, election officials and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) successfully collected and verified signed forms for 4,45,18,538 electors.

However, the intensive digitisation drive has placed 1,09,13,776 electors (19.69%) under the Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate, and Others (ASDDO) category.

Breakdown of Flagged Voters (ASDDO Category)

The digitised data released by the CEO office provides a detailed breakdown of electors flagged during the door-to-door verification drive:

 Permanently Shifted: 65,85,791 voters (11.88%)

 Deceased: 16,35,759 voters (2.95%)

 Untraceable / Absent: 15,65,838 voters (2.82%)

 Duplicate / Enrolled Elsewhere: 6,92,272 voters (1.26%)

 Unwilling to Sign / Others: 4,27,119 voters (0.77%)

Chief Electoral Officer V. Anbukkumar clarified that voters who failed to sign and submit their enumeration forms to BLOs—including those categorized as absent, untraceable, or permanently shifted—will not be included in the draft electoral roll.

Mapping Categories & Fresh Form Submissions

The SIR data also categorized electors based on their family mapping status:

 Progeny Mapping: 2,34,54,791 electors (42.31%)

 Self-Mapped: 1,76,68,045 electors (31.87%)

 No Mapping: 33,61,876 electors (6.06%)

Voters listed under the “no mapping” category who could not present previous SIR data will receive formal notices at a later stage to clear their status.

Additionally, thousands of citizens took active steps to correct or update their voter records during the drive:

 7,05,062 electors submitted enumeration forms directly (with 9,000 pending BLO verification).

 3,95,781 individuals submitted Form-6 for fresh voter registration.

 8,37,514 citizens filed Form-8 requesting corrections to their existing details.

Deadline for Citizens: August 17

The CEO office has urged citizens to verify their details online. Electors have until August 17 to inspect the ASDDO list uploaded on the official Election Commission portal and submit claims or objections if their names have been inadvertently flagged.
