MYSURU: In a bid to ensure the safety of flight operations, the Mysuru airport authorities have issued a strong public advisory warning citizens against the use of laser lights, high-intensity beams, and powerful searchlights directed towards the sky.
The airport administration has explicitly highlighted that flashing these bright lights toward airborne aircraft or the Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower poses severe security and operational risks.
Why Laser Beams Pose a Threat to Aviation
High-intensity lights and laser beams can temporarily blind pilots during critical phases of flight, such as landing and takeoff. Furthermore, distracting or obstructing the view of personnel at the ATC tower can jeopardize the safety of hundreds of passengers.
The authorities have urged local residents, event organizers, and businesses operating near the airport vicinity to strictly comply with these guidelines. Legal action may be taken against anyone found violating the safety protocol and endangering aviation operations.
