BENGALURU: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, launched a scathing attack on the ruling Congress government in Karnataka, alleging a total breakdown of administrative machinery in the state.
Taking to social media, the BJP MLC asserted that statements made by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah himself serve as clear proof of the government’s total failure.
Internal Rifts Exposed
Highlighting growing friction within the ruling party, Narayanaswamy pointed out that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is reportedly discontented with the appointment of three district in-charge ministers.
“The phrase ‘Now the government is different, and the Chief Minister is different’ has completely exposed the internal rift within the Congress party,” stated Chalavadi Narayanaswamy.
He further claimed that senior Congress leaders themselves are expressing helplessness, openly conveying that “this is not my government.”
Questions Over Moral Authority
Raising serious concerns over the governance state in Karnataka, the BJP leader questioned the future of the state’s citizens under the current dispensation.
“When senior leaders themselves express powerlessness, what will be the fate of the people of Karnataka? Does the Congress government retain any moral authority to rule?” Narayanaswamy questioned.
Direct Barb at D.K. Shivakumar
Directly addressing Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Narayanaswamy referenced a popular proverb famously quoted by former leaders:
“Honourable Shri D.K. Shivakumar, the former Chief Minister directly stated that ‘One who cannot mount the horse provided is neither brave nor courageous.’ What do you have to say to this?”
The BJP leader’s stinging remarks come amidst rising political tensions in Karnataka, with the opposition stepping up its assault on the Congress government over administrative friction and governance issues.
