Allegations of Voter Fraud in Karnataka Spark Buzz: Could Mansoor Ali Khan Have Won in Bangalore Central?

Bangalore| July 24 : A serious controversy is brewing over alleged electoral malpractices in one of Karnataka’s Lok Sabha constituencies, following explosive claims by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. His statements, made on the eve of the Bihar elections, have sent shockwaves through political circles and renewed national debate on the transparency of India’s electoral process.

While Gandhi refrained from naming the specific constituency, speculation is rife that he may have been referring to Bangalore Central — a seat that witnessed a close contest in 2024. In that election, Congress candidate Mansoor Ali Khan narrowly lost to BJP’s P.C. Mohan by just over 32,000 votes. Fresh allegations now suggest that a large number of voter names were improperly deleted from the rolls in key assembly segments like Shivajinagar and Mahadevapura, which fall under the Bangalore Central Lok Sabha constituency.

Speaking to the media, Gandhi said his team had conducted a months-long in-depth analysis of one particular constituency in Karnataka. “We obtained the full voter list and digitised the data for detailed scrutiny. It took us over six months. We will soon present the findings to the Election Commission and the public,” he stated.

According to Gandhi, the study revealed critical information about how new voters were added and existing names were allegedly removed, raising questions about due process and potential manipulation. He hinted at systemic issues but stopped short of revealing the constituency’s name — a move that has only intensified speculation.

With these developments, political observers are beginning to reassess the dynamics in Bangalore Central. If the allegations prove substantial, they could boost Mansoor Ali Khan’s standing in the constituency, which has historically seen tight electoral margins. The controversy may also energise Congress supporters and draw scrutiny to BJP’s past performance in the area.

As the nation awaits further disclosures, this unfolding episode could play a pivotal role in shaping the narrative ahead of the next general elections — especially in constituencies where outcomes were decided by thin margins.
