Bengaluru Stabbing Spree: Gang Attacks Bystanders in Uttarahalli, Several Injured

BENGALURU — Panic gripped Southwest Bengaluru on Sunday night as an unidentified gang launched a violent, unprovoked stabbing spree across multiple locations in the Uttarahalli area, leaving several people injured.
The serial attacks unfolded around 9:00 PM near Maramma Circle in Hosahalli. According to police reports, a group of six to seven assailants arrived on three to four motorcycles, armed with machetes and long knives. They targeted a group of four friends standing by the roadside without any apparent provocation.
Two victims from the initial attack, identified as Kiran N. and Kiran H., suffered deep cut wounds. One victim remains hospitalized for treatment, while the other was discharged after receiving emergency first aid.
Second Attack Near Arehalli Gate
Minutes after the first assault, the bike-borne gang moved toward Arehalli Gate on Uttarahalli Main Road. The assailants targeted bystanders and customers outside a local fish stall, injuring two more individuals identified as Raju and Ravi.
Witnesses reported that Ravi suffered severe injuries to his ear and hand during the assault.
Police Launch Manhunt
Officers from the Subramanyapura Police Station arrived at both crime scenes shortly after the incidents and recorded statements from the victims at local hospitals.
Confirming the serial attacks, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Dr. Soumyalatha stated that law enforcement has launched a full-scale investigation to track down the perpetrators.
“Around 9:00 PM, miscreants arrived on bikes and attacked Kiran N. and his friends near Maramma Circle without any apparent motive. Subsequently, the same group moved near the Arehalli arch, close to a fish stall, and assaulted two persons, Raju and Ravi,” DCP Soumyalatha said.
The DCP confirmed that investigators have identified four suspects and formed three specialized police teams under the Subramanyapura police limits to apprehend the gang members. Police patrols have been intensified across Southwest Bengaluru following the incident.
