KALABURAGI: In a major boost to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), veteran leader Shashil G. Namoshi has secured a resounding victory in the Karnataka Legislative Council elections from the North East Teachers’ Constituency. Marking his fifth electoral triumph in this legislative segment, Namoshi’s victory reinforces the party’s strong foothold in the region.

Following the conclusion of counting rounds, Namoshi established an unassailable lead over his Congress rival, Sharanappa Mattur. While the official announcement from election authorities is awaited, party workers have already begun celebrations across Kalaburagi, bursting crackers and distributing sweets to mark the milestone.

A Decisive Lead in Counting Rounds

The high-stakes electoral battle saw intense competition, particularly given the political dynamics of the region. However, first-preference votes and subsequent rounds firmly favored the NDA-backed candidate.

First Preference Strength: Namoshi took an early lead, comfortably outpacing the Congress contender by over 1,500 votes in the opening round.

Consolidated Victory: As counting progressed into the second round, Namoshi expanded his lead to cross a margin of more than 3,000 votes, sealing an all-but-inevitable win.

Electorate Turnout: Out of 34,784 registered voters across the constituency, 30,250 educators exercised their franchise.
