BS Yediyurappa Alleges DK Shivakumar Is Part of Plot to Dethrone Siddaramaiah
BENGALURU:
The political landscape of Karnataka has once again been rocked by intense speculation following explosive claims made by veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa. Speaking on ongoing political developments, Yediyurappa alleged that Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar is actively involved in an internal party plot aimed at sidelining and dethroning Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Yediyurappa pointed to deep-seated factionalism and widening rifts within the ruling Congress party, claiming that governance has taken a back seat as leaders indulge in a relentless tussle for power. According to the senior BJP leader, the friction between the state’s two top executive heads has not only crippled administrative efficiency but also created deep uncertainty within the state cabinet.
“The infighting within the ruling Congress has reached a tipping point. Instead of focusing on development and fulfilling pre-election guarantees, key leaders are busy plotting against each other,” Yediyurappa stated, highlighting that the internal power struggle is eroding public trust in the administration.
Political analysts note that these allegations come at a sensitive juncture for the grand old party in Karnataka, which has been grappling with persistent whispers of leadership friction and power-sharing discussions. While the state Congress leadership has repeatedly downplayed talk of internal dissent—insisting that the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister are working in tandem to deliver governance—the opposition continues to weaponize these perceived cracks.
