Bangalore to get a 153 acre park in Yelahanka

Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre said today that a big park in Bangalore would come in Yelahanka. He said another Cubbon Park kind of a big park is needed for Bangalore to create a lung space for its citizen .
A 153 acres of land, belonging to Karnataka Forest Development ( KFDC) has been identified in Yelahanka.The forest department will turn it a big park similar to Cubbon Park.
Speaking at an event today in Bangalore, Khandre said the park will be named after ‘ Salumarada Thimmakka’ a popular environmentalist who planted 385 banyan trees .
