Bengaluru: The upcoming Kannada social drama Sarkaari Nyayabele Angadi has officially completed post-production and is all set to hit theatres across Karnataka on July 31. Starring veteran actor-politician Kumar Bangarappa and celebrated actress Ragini Dwivedi in lead roles, the movie delves into the inner workings of the Public Distribution System (PDS) and rural fair-price ration shops.

The makers recently unveiled the film’s trailer at a star-studded launch event in Bengaluru, attended by prominent figures from both the Kannada film industry and Karnataka politics.

Star-Studded Trailer Launch in Bengaluru

The trailer was formally launched in the presence of former MP L.R. Shivarame Gowda, veteran film producer Sa. Ra. Govindu, President of Karnataka Film Exhibitors Association K.V. Chandrashekhar, and renowned singer Shamitha Malnad.

Lauding the team’s initiative, former MP Shivarame Gowda highlighted the societal relevance of the topic:

“Central and state governments distribute food grains through fair-price shops to ensure no underprivileged family goes hungry. However, systemic loopholes often hinder these benefits. The movie sheds light on these vital issues through an engaging narrative, creating much-needed public awareness.”

First Indian Film on the PDS System

Speaking at the trailer reveal, lead actor Kumar Bangarappa noted that Sarkaari Nyayabele Angadi marks a unique milestone in Indian cinema.

“This is the first film in the country centered entirely on government fair-price shops and the ration distribution network,” Bangarappa shared. “Shot extensively across realistic rural locations in Mandya over 52 days, the film balances wholesome entertainment with an impactful social message about local grain trade practices and irregularities.”

Ragini Dwivedi’s Village Avatar

Breaking away from her usual glamorized roles, Ragini Dwivedi steps into the shoes of a traditional village woman named Parvathi.

“Playing an authentic rural character for the first time was an enriching experience,” Ragini expressed. “Shooting in Mandya’s rustic countryside gave the project immense authenticity. Audiences can expect a beautiful mix of entertainment, emotion, and social awareness.”
