BENGALURU: In a poignant moment marked by respect and reverence, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar bowed down to touch the threshold of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly chamber before entering to attend the session on Thursday.

Upon entering the house for the assembly proceedings, Shivakumar made a point to offer his traditional respects at the entrance before walking up to the Chief Minister’s seat and bowing deeply to it as well.

A Mark of Respect to the Temple of Democracy

The gesture caught the attention of both lawmakers and spectators present in the Assembly gallery. For political observers, Shivakumar’s act of touching the doorframe and the CM chair was a display of deep reverence toward the legislative body—often referred to as the Temple of Democracy.

As the session convened, Shivakumar took his place alongside senior leadership and actively participated in the legislative proceedings, setting a solemn and respectful tone for the day’s agenda.
