“‘I Should Have Listened to Siddaramaiah’: MP K Sudhakar Explodes at Vijayendra, Threatens Party Exit!”

BENGALURU: Internal tensions within the Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have surfaced once again, as Chikkaballapur Lok Sabha Member of Parliament Dr. K. Sudhakar voiced strong dissatisfaction with State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra.
Dr. Sudhakar alleged that he is being intentionally sidelined despite his dedicated service to the party, particularly during the tenure of former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Broken Promises and Growing Insecurity
Speaking publicly, Dr. Sudhakar claimed that Vijayendra had previously made solemn commitments to him—going so far as touching the feet of Lord Basavanna—promising to honor specific political assurances. However, according to the MP, these commitments remain unfulfilled.
Dr. Sudhakar noted that while he shared a strong working relationship with former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, Vijayendra’s approach toward him appears driven by insecurity.
“We worked dedicatedly during Basavaraj Bommai’s tenure. But today, promises made touching the feet of Lord Basavanna are being forgotten. While I had a great relationship with Yediyurappa ji, Vijayendra seems insecure,” Dr. Sudhakar remarked.
“Should Have Listened to Siddaramaiah”: Regret Over Joining BJP
Reflecting on his political journey, Dr. Sudhakar revealed that top Congress leaders, including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, had previously warned him against joining the BJP.
He admitted to repenting his decision, stating that the Congress leaders had cautioned him about being used and eventually abandoned in middle waters.
“Siddaramaiah told me back then that they would use people and leave them in the middle of the river. Today, I am regretting not listening to that advice,” he stated.
Ultimatum to BJP High Command
Dr. Sudhakar affirmed that he plans to escalate the matter directly to the BJP central leadership in New Delhi. However, he cautioned that if the high command fails to address his grievances, he will be forced to evaluate alternative options to safeguard his political career.
“I will bring this entire issue to the notice of the party’s central leadership. If no resolution comes out of it, I will have to look into what is best for my political future,” the MP added.
The public stance taken by Dr. Sudhakar underscores ongoing friction within the Karnataka BJP leadership structure, signaling potential challenges ahead for party unity in the state.
