In a push toward administrative synergy, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar called upon the state bureaucracy to function with a unity-first “Team Karnataka” mindset to address critical administrative challenges and achieve development goals.

Addressing top administrative officers during a high-level video conference, Shivakumar stressed that collective responsibility and team spirit are crucial for effective governance across the state.

The meeting was convened to evaluate ongoing drought management measures and assess district-level preparedness. Shivakumar reviewed ground reports alongside key administrative leaders, including Chief Secretary Dr. Shalini Rajneesh.

Focus on District Preparedness and Drought Management

During the interaction, the Deputy Chief Minister spoke directly with Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of Zilla Panchayats (ZPs) across all districts to ensure relief measures reach vulnerable populations without delay.

Key highlights from the conference included:

Proactive Relief Execution: District officials were directed to accelerate relief operations and ensure seamless distribution of drinking water and fodder.

Inter-Departmental Coordination: Emphasized breaking administrative silos to allow rapid decision-making at the local level.

Accountability on the Ground: DCs and ZP CEOs were tasked with monitoring field conditions directly to prevent administrative bottlenecks.

Shivakumar reiterated that administrative challenges, particularly seasonal crises like drought, require a synchronized effort between the state leadership and local administrators. With Chief Secretary Dr. Shalini Rajneesh steering the administrative apparatus, the government aims to enforce strict oversight to maintain relief momentum state-wide.
