Former MP Pratap Simha on Monday strongly signalled his entry into state politics, saying his choice of the Chamaraja Assembly constituency reflects a conscious shift from national to state-level leadership, as he asserted that the seat cannot be won through money power but only through performance and public trust.
“Chamaraja is not a constituency where cash packets decide elections. The people here are politically aware and judge leaders by their work,” Simha said while addressing party workers.
Rejecting caste-based political calculations, he said the constituency represents a diverse social fabric. “This is not a one-community seat. People from all sections live here. The voters are educated, conscious and capable of making informed decisions,” he added.
Simha said these factors made Chamaraja his natural choice. “This is a constituency that rewards sincerity and performance, not money,” he asserted.
The remarks come amid heightened political activity in Chamaraja, which is emerging as a key battleground ahead of the upcoming electoral contest.
