Bengaluru:
On the occasion of his birthday, Union Minister V. Somanna made a significant statement regarding the future of his son, Arun. Somanna hinted at the possibility of Arun stepping into politics in the near future.

“There is a strong chance that Arun will enter politics in the coming days. He has a bright future ahead. While I cannot yet say I’m proud as a father in the political sense, his conduct and values are commendable,” Somanna remarked.

When asked about the details of Arun’s potential entry — such as the constituency or position — Somanna clarified that no decisions have been made yet. “These matters will be decided by the party leadership. The party is closely observing everything and will determine the appropriate path for him,” he explained.

During his interaction with the media in Bengaluru, the Union Minister addressed several key issues. With discussions underway within the BJP about bringing in fresh faces under the leadership of B.S. Yediyurappa, Somanna’s name has also been speculated for the role of Karnataka BJP President. Responding to this, he said, “The decision of the party high command will be final.”

Reflecting emotionally on his political journey, he added, “Despite losing in two constituencies, I was given a ticket in Tumakuru. The people of Tumakuru supported me, and today I am serving as a Union Minister. I am deeply grateful for the trust the public has placed in me.”
