Mysuru: In a firm rebuttal to ongoing speculation surrounding Karnataka’s political landscape, State Minister for Women and Child Development, Lakshmi Hebbalkar, has assured the public that the state’s governance remains on solid ground, with no major shake-ups anticipated in the near future.

Speaking to reporters at the revered Chamundi Hills temple, where she participated in the auspicious rituals of the third Ashada Friday along with her family, Minister Hebbalkar expressed full confidence in the continuity of the current government. “The is no political storm brewing in Karnataka. The situation will continue to remain calm and stable beyond September”,she said, aiming to dispel rumors of an internal crisis or change in leadership.

Highlighting the commitment and unity within the ruling Congress government, the minister stressed that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is set to complete his full five-year term as assured. “The Chief Minister himself has categorically stated that he will serve the full term. Once that clarity is provided by the head of the government, there is no room for unnecessary speculation”,she asserted.

When questioned about the buzz around a possible leadership transition within the state Congress, Hebbalkar was unequivocal in her response. “Both Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar have publicly addressed this matter. Ours is a national party, and we operate within a structured framework. Such matters are not for public debate. Any decisions regarding leadership or governance will be made solely by the party high command”, she clarified.

Minister Hebbalkar’s remarks come at a time when whispers of internal rifts and ambitions within the Congress leadership have been gaining traction in political circles. However, her confident dismissal of these claims signals the party’s intention to present a united front and focus on governance, development, and fulfilling the promises made to the people of Karnataka.
