Three Nigerians Arrested Near Bengaluru Airport; Drugs Worth ₹4 Crore Seized

Bengaluru – In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Bengaluru police arrested three Nigerian nationals near the Kempegowda International Airport and seized synthetic drugs valued at over ₹4 crore.
According to police officials, the accused were found in possession of 2.8 kilograms of MDMA (a synthetic drug) and nearly 400 kilograms of hydro ganja. The operation was based on reliable intelligence and surveillance of suspicious activities in the area.
Bengaluru Rural Superintendent of Police, C.K. Baba, stated that the arrested individuals had entered India on medical visas but were found to be overstaying beyond their visa validity.
“Based on credible intelligence inputs and observation of suspicious movements, our team identified and tracked foreign nationals involved in illicit activities,” SP Baba told reporters.
A raid was conducted at their residence in Rajanukunte, where authorities recovered 2.8 kg of MDMA, 400 kg of hydro ganja, over ₹2 lakh in cash, seven mobile phones, packaging materials, and a weighing machine.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused had entered India via Delhi in December 2024, citing medical reasons. Police have registered a case against them under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
“This appears to be part of a larger drug trafficking network,” Baba added. “Our investigation will now focus on identifying the source of the narcotics, the modus operandi, and the intended distribution channels.”
