Congress high command has an intent of continuing D K Shivakumar as the KPCC president until the internal tussles over the Chief Ministerial candidate and party chief are resolved .

While D K Shivakumar is a serious aspirant for the Chief Ministerial position, PWD minister Satish Jarkiholi and Co-operation minister KN Rajanna are among the top contenders for the post of KPCC President .Both Satish Jharkiholi and Rajanna, loyalists of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah are in an attempt to not only derail the aspirations of D K Shivakumar , but also to ensure he doesn’t continue as KPCC President based on the one man one post concept of Congress party .

Meanwhile, Shivakumar has played his cards well in the court of Congress high command convincing them to continue him as the party’s chief in Karnataka until these issues are resolved .

Shivakumar, off late has been playing to his gallery with an intention to woo the support of MLAs who are diametrically opposed to Siddaramaiah’s ideology by taking dip in holy Ganges and Kaveri . He also is having a series of temple runs to show that he’s more a pro Hindu compared to Siddaramaiah.

All said and done, Siddaramaiah enjoys a large number of MLAs support , which had made Shivakumar put an effort to impress the neutral MLAs on his side by meeting them one on one offering them .
