Sanju weds Geetha -2 fails to impress audience with a slow pace and ordinary storyline

After overcoming legal issues, Sanju Weds Geetha 2 hit the screens, only to fall flat on its face. Unlike its predecessor, the beloved 2011 romantic drama that left viewers in tears, this sequel brought tears of regret for those who endured its runtime.

The plot feels older than the silk industry and could fit on the back of a business card: a saree salesman meets a silk tycoon’s daughter, they fall in love, face class conflict, marry against her overprotective father’s wishes, and aim to build a textile empire, tada! The same rags to riches story. Ten years, one trip to Switzerland, and a tragic illness later, the story spirals into confusion rather than emotion.
The lack of chemistry between Sanju and Geetha is glaring. Srinagara Kitty and Rachita Ram, talented actors, look more lost in thought than lost in love.
Attempts to address sericulture issues earn some credit but lack logic. Geetha contracts silicosis, a disease common in miners, not silk weavers, adding to the illogical twists. A casual mention of Alzheimer’s makes the film feel like a crash course in medical drama.

The lead actors Srinagar Kitty and Rachita Ram looked tired throughout the movie without any chemistry between them . Satya Hegde’s visuals of Switzerland’s snow and Sidlaghatta’s rain are stunning, but even breathtaking cinematography can’t save this sinking ship. The music by Sridhar V. Sambhram is pleasant .The villainous father trope is a recycled character from every family drama ever made.
Rangayana Raghu and Ragini Dwivedi make a blink-and-miss appearance.

Director Nagashekar banks heavily on nostalgia but forgets to add freshness. What remains is a stale storyline that fails to tug at heartstrings but tangles viewers in confusion.
